Saying that Bill Bowerman and Philip Knight founded the Blue Ribbon Sports Company in 1964 might leave many indifferent. But the fact that in 1978 this company was given a new name, i.e. Nike, the Greek Goddess of Victory, draws a smile of recognition and approval because, besides for the quality and comfort of its products, Nike is also known for its slogan: Just Do It, and acts as a sponsor to many athletes and sports teams around the world.
