In 1984, two Argentine brothers, Fernando and Santiago Aguerre, created a brand as a result of their extremely active lifestyle. The brothers’ active surfing lifestyle and constant presence on the surf scene resulted in the opening of their own shop in 1970, in Argentina, offering surfing equipment. Later, they moved to the United States, to a beach in San Diego, California, and it was there that Reef was born. Starting with just $4000, the brothers created one of the world's best extreme sports brands. Their products quickly gained loyal clients among the surfers and beach goers, and the company evolved so much that in 1995 an area of 80,000 square meters was required to accommodate its new production capacities.
