Dr. Martens

Dr. Martens boots stepped into the history of fashion as one of its greatest paradoxes. They were initially sold at a very low price as working shoes designed for police officers and construction and factory workers. With the emergence and development of subcultures, Dr. Martens boots started to be associated with skinheads in the 1960s and the punk movement in the 1970s. The most famous model of these boots was the one with 8 holes, the iconic 1460, which was named after the date of its creation (1/4/60). The classic models of Dr. Martens boots can be recognized by their color (black and cherry red), variable number of holes and a bicolored rubber sole with an air cushion. In the 1980s, Dr. Martens boots were accepted as the footwear of young people. Grunge and punk musicians and bands also contributed to their popularity, wearing Dr. Martens boots while playing concerts and being photographed for a record or CD cover, whereas world famous shoe designers inspired by Doc Martens presented their own creations of classic models, thus bringing Dr. Martens boots to the world's catwalks.
